The Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce that the county's Weed Control Board (WCB) is formally reinstated. Our team does not possess a direct political or legal connection to the WCB, however, conservation planning efforts and programming overlaps in important ways. Both the JCSWCD and the WCB share a vision for the health, integrity, and state of nature across the county's many diverse ecosystems and landscapes. Moreover, both groups also share in the philosophy that stewarding native ecosystems and landscapes requires the thoughtful management of non-native and invasive plant species. Beyond the shared vision of thoughtful and effective invasive plant species management, our groups may differ in how we accomplish the goal of conserving soil, water, and other natural resources.
