There was an amazing turnout of 170+ people at the August 2nd Field Day. The Steel in the Field for Organic Row Crops field day took place at Living Prairie Family Farms in Wolcott, Indiana.
“As farmers look for a way to improve farm income in these tough markets, organic row crop is a viable alternative. Soil and water quality can still be protected and improved with good organic management and strategies. A lot of discussion was centered around that and why the UIWI and SWCD’s are getting involved”. -Dan Perkins, District Director and Watershed Technician for the Jasper County SWCD
